AIWM X Marymount Centre Charity Bowl 2023

Thursday 7 September 2023 at 1:30 PM - 5 PM
Temasek Club
@131 Rifle Range Road, Singapore 588406

Amidst the hustle of building our businesses and navigating the markets, it’s easy for us to forget the needy. One group of these are the 1,200 children in care/youth at risk in Singapore, 50% of whom are in institutionalised care.

Join hands with AIWM as we strive to raise both awareness and funds for these children.

This year, the AIWM Singapore partners with Marymount Centre* to organise a Charity Bowling Competition where teams from our firms (including family, friends and clients) can bowl alongside the children from the home!

Marymount Centre is an institution that reaches out to vulnerable women and children through three 24-hour residential homes for children under the Ahuva Good Shepherd umbrella and a crisis centre.

Funds raised would be used for therapeutic programs (counselling, play therapy, etc.) for the children as well as tuition fees.

AIWM Singapore aims to raise S$40,000 for this fundraising initiative. We have been actively supporting the less-privileged with our member firms over projects such as the SMU Bursary to support freshmen in financial need, #Feet2Foster to raise awareness for fostering in Singapore and the #CourageFund to support healthcare workers affected by Covid-19.

Through this fundraising initiative, besides raising funds, AIWM Singapore will be bringing 40 beneficiaries of Marymount Centre, aged 9 to 16, for a fun afternoon of bowling at the Temasek Club, located at 131 Rifle Range Road, Singapore 588406, on Thursday, 7th September 2023.

How you can participate

1. Send in teams representing your firm (each firm can send more than 1 team)

We would like to invite Twenty interested member firms to join us in this fundraising initiative with a donation of at least S$2,000 per team.

This donation amount will entitle 4 (four) of your staff (also open to clients, friends & family) to volunteer their time and play host to 2 (two) beneficiaries. Your team of 6 (six) members (4 staff + 2 beneficiaries) will then compete with other teams over a game of bowling at the Temasek Club. 3 top prizes are up for grabs for the winning teams.

2. Teams can also be formed outside/across firms

You can also form your own team of 4 (four) members (with your clients, colleagues, family and/or friends) and participate in this fundraising initiative. Similarly, your team will play host to 2 (two) beneficiaries of Marymount Centre and aim to win one of the top 3 prizes at the Bowling Competition! Each team member may contribute a minimum donation of S$500 per person, to make up the minimum donation of S$2,000 per team.

If you are looking for a team to join, let us know and we’ll help you to form a team.

Individual contributions at a minimum donation of S$500 per person are entitled to 250% tax deduction. Please register under your personal ID (NRIC/FIN) to enjoy the tax deduction.

Members who are keen, either on corporate or individual level, are encouraged to indicate their interest by clicking on the Sign Me Up!

We would also love the opportunity to come by your office to share about the children in care in Singapore if you think that would be helpful.

Recognising the importance of long-term relationships to these children, there will be concrete opportunities for continued engagement with the children if your team is keen to continue to be engaged.

We look forward to working together to make a positive impact on the beneficiaries of Marymount Centre.

About Marymount Centre*

Marymount Centre reaches out to vulnerable women and children through three 24-hour residential homes for children, namely Ahuva Good Shepherd – Children’s Home, Ahuva Good Shepherd – Interim Placement and Assessment Centre, Ahuva Good Shepherd – Small Group Care; Good Shepherd Centre, which is a 24-hour crisis shelter for abused women and their children; and a school-based student care centre, Good Shepherd Student Care.

We are committed to our mission to reach out with compassion and respect to our women and children who are experiencing injustices or problems that are too heavy for them to face alone. We will journey with them in the healing of their personhood and empower them to rebuild their lives, so that they can restore their sense of dignity and worth.
